Setup and troubleshooting for Android and macOS.
Pair your devices
- Open AirLink on both devices and connect them to the same trusted local network.
- Choose the discovered device or use Scan QR on Android to scan the other device’s pairing code.
- Approve the pairing request on the other device. Pairing codes expire; generate a fresh one if needed.
A device is offline or missing
Open AirLink on both devices. Check Wi-Fi, macOS Local Network permission, and whether a guest network or VPN isolates the devices. Keep sharing enabled on the Mac. Reconnect before trying to remove an existing pairing.
Send from Android while using another app
Choose that app’s Share action and select AirLink. Android does not allow AirLink to continuously read the clipboard while another app has focus. A background connection supports receiving, but does not remove this restriction.
Keep the connection available
Enable Stay connected in Android Settings and allow the connection notification. Device battery restrictions can interrupt background operation. Reopen AirLink to reconnect if Android stops it. Disabling Stay connected stops background sharing; disconnecting does not reset your other preferences.
Find or preview a received file
Open Activity/Transfers and select its thumbnail. Files saved automatically are in Downloads/AirLink. With automatic downloading disabled, use Download or Save. Copy file makes supported received files available for pasting in compatible apps.
Control automatic sharing
Settings controls clipboard sync, automatic acceptance, automatic downloads, and the copied-file limit in MB or GB. Disable clipboard sync before copying content you do not want sent to paired devices.
Delete your data
No AirLink account exists to delete. Unpair devices to remove local trust, clear finished transfer history to remove eligible cached records, and delete saved files from Downloads separately. App removal follows the operating system’s storage behavior. Copies on another device must be deleted there.

For a useful issue report, include the app version, device models, Android/macOS version, the steps that failed, and the visible error. Do not include private files, copied passwords, private keys, or pairing codes.
